Nail Art: Easy To Do Cupcake Nails

Read this post to find out how to achieve these cupcake nails!

Ive decided to do a nail tutorial as my first post. Last year i came across this design on youtube and thought i would try it. And i received so many compliments on this design so i wanted to share it.

To start this nail tutorial you will need:

  • Red Nail Polish (can be glittery)
  • White Nail Polish
  • Minimum of 2 Pastel Nail Polishes
  • Base Coat
  • Top Coat
  • 1 bobby pin
1. Ok so to start off with you need to paint all nails with a base coat. This will stop the nail varnish from staining your nails however this step is optional and will work without the base coat.

2. Next you will need to paint all your nails in a pastel nail polish. This will be the "case" of your cupcake! When doing this nail design I like to pick different colours for each nail just to make them stand out even more. The colours don't necessarily need to be pastel, it is completely up to you! Leave this to dry for at least 5 minutes so that when you apply the white polish it wont mix with the nail polish that hasn't dried.

3. Using the white nail polish apply three lines onto the top half of the nail this will help you achieve the scallop edges, then join up any missing spaces. Leave this to dry for another 5 minutes.

4. Dip the end of the bobby pin in red nail polish and paint on a small red circle on the end of each nail. This will be the "cherry" on the top.

5. Using the colours you used for the base of the nail, you can use the bobby pin to add small dots so that your cupcakes have sprinkles. Leave to dry for 5 minutes.

6. Finally go over your nails with a top coat so that the design lasts longer :-)

P.S: The reason why my nails look different is because this picture was taken last year, i just wanted to include it in the post so you could see how it turns out!

Hope you enjoy!!

If anyone tries this out, please post a picture on instagram and include the hashtag #allthingssnazzy I would loooveeee to see them!!
